Brentwood Residence

A home once marked by a patchwork of renovations was reimagined as a cohesive retreat. The original design intent—featured in House Beautiful (1945) and Home & Gardens (1947)—was preserved, while fresh texture and color introduced a bohemian, earthy spirit.

Dark faux wood paneling was removed and the ceiling in the living room was raised. Salvaged beams, sandblasted to reveal natural grain, anchor the space. Light-toned floors extend warmth throughout. The chevron fireplace overmantle was recreated, with custom built-ins flanking the hearth. New lighting and furnishings bring an elevated yet livable ease.

In the primary bedroom, walls and ceiling were enveloped in terracotta. Custom linen drapery soften the palette. Earthy hues and layered textures  create a warm, tactile retreat.
